In this guide, you will find fast foods that are gluten free. I’ll give you the names of some popular fast food restaurants that offer gluten-free options.
There are people who love eating out or going through a drive-through on their way home from work, especially on a busy evening, but find it virtually impossible to find gluten free options.

However, this is not to say that there are no fast food chains out there, but it can be quite difficult to know if the menu options are safe for your consumption when you are on a gluten-free diet without having to dig through every single restaurant’s menu and website.
Fortunately, I’ve been doing that difficult work for you by getting the menu items from some of the most popular fast food chains, such as McDonald’s, Taco Bell, Chick-fil-A, and Burger King.
This is to find out what each fast food restaurant offers as gluten-free food. Well, I will be giving you the list of fast foods that are gluten free, so you can go get them.
Burger King
Cross-contamination is very possible here, but there is actually some food that is generally gluten free.
So, at Burger King, you can get their Whopper without the bun and also try their grilled chicken sandwich.
There’s also an option that you can try out, which is their garden fresh salad and some soft-serve ice cream along with the strawberry sauce, caramel sauce, or hot fudge.
However, I won’t recommend Burger King to you if you have a severe gluten sensitivity or allergy.

Panera Bread
Panera has a number of fast foods that are gluten free available. You can get a number of their soups and salads.
Below are some good options:
- Fuji apple salad
- Baked potato soup
- Greek yogurt with mixed berries
- Greek salad
- Modern Greek salad with quinoa
- A variety of steel-cut oatmeal
- Strawberry poppyseed salad with chicken
You can also try the two gluten-free desserts at Panera. These two gluten-free desserts include a coconut macaroon and a triple chocolate cookie with walnuts.
I consider Panera to be one of the most gluten-free-friendly options on my list. But be very clear that you need your items to be gluten-free while you place your order.

Five Guys
You can eat a lot at Five Guys if you avoid the bun. Their website has a chart for anyone with specific allergies, so you can pay a visit.
I checked their menu, and most of the toppings are gluten-free, so you don’t need to worry too much. And you can also get the burgers here wrapped in lettuce.
You should be assured, as all fries here at Five Guys are practically cooked in a gluten-free fryer.
Below are the best gluten free options:
- Fries
- Hot dogs (no bun)
- Plain milkshakes
- Burgers (wrapped with lettuce or no bun)
Chick-fil-A
The cow mascot here at Chick-fil-A is not regarded as being gluten-free, so avoid it.
However, there are some gluten-free options, which include a new gluten free bun. They are a big fast-food chain.
Below are the best gluten free options:
- Side salads
- Grilled chicken nuggets (not breaded)
- Added Bacon
- Fruit cups
- Waffle potato chips (fried in different oil than the breaded chicken)
- Grilled chicken

Chipotle
Chipotle is next on my list of the best and most popular fast food chains with gluten-free options.
Flour tortillas are the only foods listed on the Chipotle menu that contain gluten.
So, gluten can be avoided by not ordering a taco or burrito. You can create a burrito bowl with any of their rice, beans, cheese, and meat.
This is if you are interested in Chipotle’s fresh-tasting flavors. I suggest you make one with romaine lettuce, fresh tomato salsa, sofritas, and pinto beans.
However, this is only if you are interested in a healthier main course. You can also try their corn tortillas, as they are gluten-free.
Although during cultivation, they can contain small traces of gluten through cross-contamination.

In-N-Out Burger
In-N-Out Burger is another excellent fast food chain on my list that offers gluten free options. Except for their hamburger buns, every item on their menu does not contain gluten.
You can actually create your burger “Protein-Style” by alternating the bun with fresh lettuce.
This is if you are craving a delicious cheeseburger, Double-Double Burger, or hamburger.
You need to be very clear that you want to make a gluten-free order. They will ensure they avoid cross-contamination by using fresh spread on your burger.
Another perfect gluten-free option here is their shakes and French fries. They also have a variety of gluten-free beverages that you can order along with your meal.

Arby’s
Arby’s offers a rather extensive gluten-free menu for a fast food restaurant. It is very likely for you to dine at Arby’s on most of the meats if you are on a gluten-free diet, although with a bun.
You can also go for their Farmhouse salad with roasted turkey. Some other gluten free options include vanilla shakes, chocolate, and jamocha swirl.
I will not recommend Arby’s potato cakes and fries as safe, as they prepare rem in the same oil as they cook gluten foods.
To avoid cross-contamination here at Arby’s, you need to work with the person behind the counter.
Boston Market
For gluten-free guests at Boston Market, you can order from a fairly wide range of main courses and sides on the restaurant’s gluten-free menu.
You can also have their gravy, thanks to the fact that it is gluten-free. Below we will include their gluten-free options.
- Holiday ham
- Holiday turkey
- Rotisserie chicken
- Steamed vegetables
- Southwest Cobb Salad
- Roasted turkey breast
Unfortunately, Boston Market does not offer any gluten-free desserts.

Chili’s
Technically, Chili’s is not a fast food chain. It is just a casual dining restaurant that offers popular take-out options.
They have an allergen/vegetarian fact sheet and a separate gluten-free menu. Some of their gluten-free foods include bottomless tostada chips, fresh guacamole, and buffalo wings.
However, this restaurant cautions that cross-contamination is possible, so before ordering, you will need to speak to the manager.

Final Thoughts on Fast Foods That Are Gluten Free
However, there is no guarantee that these gluten-free menu items are free of cross-contamination because fast-food employees are usually not food experts.
I will advise you to speak to a branch manager before ordering if you have a severe gluten sensitivity or allergy.
Well, this will conclude this guide, as you now have the list of fast foods that are gluten free.
